The Americans confirm the trend. Two scenarios are now considered. One of them sends the cyclone to northern Europe. The other estimates that it will hit the French Atlantic coast as well as the northwest of Spain.
Proximity obliges, throughout the summer, the Mediterranean warming was on everyone’s lips. Under the effects of heat wave, rarely indeed, the Big Blue has been so hot. But as our colleagues from El Periodico point out, global warmingAtlantic Ocean went into the background.
And yet, it could just as easily impact us. Several meteorologists or scientists also warn of its possible immediate effects. One of them even going so far as to announce the formation of a hurricane who was about to hit the Iberian Peninsula.
In a series of tweets published this Thursday, the meteorologist of Aemet (Spanish Meteorological Agency) Juan Jesus Gonzalez German “warns of the imminent formation of a powerful atlantic storm at an unusual latitude that threatens to become a hurricane which could affect spain“details El Periodico. “A possible scenario, since it hasn’t formed yet, and very complex processes come into play. But it’s a serious enough problem and representative enough to monitor and be attentive to”.
A few hours after his first thread of tweets, González Alemán himself revealed that the forecast was confirmed by the National Hurricane Center in the United States (NHC).
