In tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, all Apple Stores in the UK will reduce their activities this week. Apple would also have decided to close all of its English stores on the day of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, Monday September 19. It should also be noted that the online Apple Store for the United Kingdom still displays the tribute page to the late Queen (this is no longer the case everywhere else). As a reminder, Queen Elizabeth II died at her Scottish property in Balmoral on September 8. She was 96 years old and honored this year her 70th year of “reign”.
Until September 19, therefore, certain services of the British Apple Store should be suspended, like the Genius Bar. Store hours will also be modified by this date and current operations should be considerably slowed down on Wednesday, September 14. Apple often communicates following the death of a personality appreciated by the general public, but the complete shutdown of the sales network for funerals (even “royal”) will undoubtedly be a first.
