The Weeknd interrupts concert due to loss of voice

MUSIC – The Canadian singer has lived the obsession of all artists. The Weeknd suffered a loss of voice in the middle of a concert this Saturday, September 3 in Los Angeles and had to resolve to cancel his show, as you can see in our video at the top of the article.

The Canadian singer was performing on the lawn of Sofi Stadium, theater of the super-bowl LVI last February. He presented his tour After Hours, from the name of his last album released in 2020. A show he had already played the day before in this same stadium. But on Saturday, the 70,000 spectators only had a few minutes to savor the show, which was interrupted after 15 minutes and four songs.

It kills me to do this, I don’t know what just happened… but I just lost my voice “, explained The Weeknd, particularly embarrassed on stage. “I don’t wanna stop the gig, but I can’t give you the show I want now “.

The interpreter of Blinding Lights pledged that all fans would be reimbursed and promised to return to Los Angeles soon to perform a new show. He also made sure that the entire audience was well. A precaution far from being anecdotal for the singer, whose tour was bereaved by the death of a fan in Philadelphia on July 14, following a fall in an escalator.

In the evening, The Weeknd renewed his apology on social networks.

“My voice went out during the first song and I’m devastated. I felt her go and had heart palpitations. My deepest apologies to my fans. I promise you I’ll make it up to you. We’ll find a new date. »

The artist will continue his tour on September 22 and 23 in Toronto, his hometown for two highly anticipated concerts.
