An endless heat wave, gigantic fires, torrential rains: this summer, France experienced a season in hell. With global warming, natural disasters are on the increase, especially droughts that attack houses and crack them. Insurance very often refuses to reimburse the damage. Yet some continue to insure and finance companies that aggravate global warming. But insurers are not the only ones playing this dangerous game. Municipalities too. Constructions devour nature. Every ten years, in France, an entire department of natural spaces disappears under the concrete. In some regions, such as the Côte d’Azur, this “artificialization” of the soil increases the risk of sometimes deadly flooding.
