Apple is reportedly working on three AR/VR devices

AR glasses, mixed reality headset or even virtual reality, Apple’s plans in the field of virtual environments are ambitious.

It has been known for years from reliable sources that Apple is actively working on two augmented/virtual reality devices. A VR headset, but also AR glasses would be in the pipes in Cupertino. It would then be, with the Apple Car, Apple’s most ambitious project since the release of the Apple Watch in 2014.

But according to Mark Gurman, Apple would not be content to produce “only” two devices, but three products dedicated to AR and VR. Known under the code names “N301”, “N421” and “N602”, these would be three very distinct models.

The first, “N301”, would concern a mixed reality headset expected for 2023 and coming to compete with the Meta Quest Pro. It would be the top-of-the-range model from Apple. “N421” would correspond to smart glasses, which are called Apple Glass, embedding an augmented reality system.

Finally, “N602” would be the code chosen to evoke the second generation of the mixed reality headset. This would be a lower cost alternative.
